Critic's Review
Carina's is a big place; not your typical pizzeria. Its a large open room with a counter in the rear and a stove with a big flame in full view. They call this stone-fired, so I suppose they have a stone being heated by the flame. Its pretty impressive whatever it is.
The first time I was here I had already eaten so I just got a slice, and it was a pretty ugly slice.
But looks aren't everything and I have to say I really liked the slice. The sauce was very good and the crust had superior foldability, and there was plenty of cheese. So one day when my "plan" was thwarted when the place I was going to review was unexpectedly closed, I decided to get a whole pie. My usual, with 1/2 sausage.
As is so often the case here in South Florida, this pizza was nothing like the slice I had gotten. Short on Cheese and chintzy on the sausage, the crust was very chewy; too chewy. The outer crust was too hard to eat.
Not a terrible pizza, but not as good as the slice I had gotten previously.
