Critic's Review

When I walked in, I initially thought that this location was somehow skipped when they did the big remodel; where they converted the original TGI fridays theme to a plasticly, modern look. This place looked decidedly old; with the creepy mirrored pillars and old style bar stools.

I later found out that I was completely backwards in my thinking; this place is the first location in the area to get the latest makeover, just 5 years after the last one. They're apparently going with a cleaner look; there's no stuff on the walls, except for the signature rowboat.

It appears that some new-fangled designers are ruining restaurants throughout the country. The mirrored pillars just remind me of the 80s. The place looks old. Why would you want your restaurant to look like a Bobby Rubino's? The original decor was totally cool and would still be cool today. Whoever is running this place should be sent packing.

I ordered the Soup and Wedge salad; I haven't had the french onion soup in 20 years. Something that is new is "complimentary chips and salsa"; at least I don't ever remember getting them before. The chips were fresh but not good, and the salsa was terrible. So it really served no benefit to me.

Music here was very Katy Perry, which I'm kind of starting to abhor. Follow-ups of "Another one bites the dust" was more inline with the decor; I'm not sure how Ne-Yo fit in. Junk.

The soup and salad came out together on the same plate. I didn't have to do more than look at the french onion soup to be disappointed.

This used to come in a big crock, with cheese oozing over the top and down the sides. This was a signature dish forever; what the hell did they do to it. There were no onions in the soup, just a couple of little bits, and the broth had no flavor. What a waste of time.

The wedge was served with too little dressing, which seems to be a trend. They'll always give you more; I'm not sure why they just can't give you enough in the first place.

The bacon wasn't well done enough to crumble, which makes it not so good for a salad like this. The blue cheese dressing wasn't bad; no onions and the tomatoes might as well have not been there either. It was a passable salad; $9.19 for soup and salad isn't bad.

As always, when you ask for extra stuff they give you a boatload here; I asked for extra lemon and they loaded up both of my Iced Teas.

The place isn't what is used to be. There used to be some things on the menu that were really good if you knew what to order. But I tend to doubt that anything is the same as it used to be.
