Critic's Review

I heard about this place accidentally; its pretty easy to miss. There's little reason to go north of Powerline on W Commercial, and this place is tucked in a little shopping center just north of Powerline. I'm guessing they took their name due to its proximity to Lockhart Stadium, where the Baltimore Orioles played their spring training games until last year. Its just a counter on the inside, although there is a counter along the window that's suitable for eating in if necessary. They have an old, small tube TV with Fox News on, so you're sure to leave well informed.

Service is very slow. The counterperson was very apologetic for my having to wait a few minutes while she served another customer, but from the time they took my order to the time I received my order was quite a long time. Enough time to get an interior picture. The prices here are pretty reasonable as their "small" subs are 8". Prices are similar to LaSpada. When they gave me the bag, it felt like a pretty big sandwich.

Now this is a pretty nice looking sandwich! I always order the peppers on the side; they usually give you extra and I can make sure they don't put on ones that I don't like. They don't use hot peppers here; they use sweet peppers and I don't want those, but I do want the banana peppers. The lettuce is fresh, the tomatoes are ripe and the entire sub is very well assembled, with mayo on one side and mustard on the other and the oil and vinegar over the top. Some places just slap it together and its too messy.

The bread here isn't the best; its soft but its more like subway than not. I'd give this sub maybe a 3.8 because of that. But for the price ($6.49), its a lot of food and a very good sandwich. Another good sub shop in Fort Lauderdale. Who would have thought?
