Critic's Review
When my game isn't on TV, I have to seek out a venue with the NFL Sunday Ticket. They've opened a new Bru's Room since last season, this one on Pines Road in Pembroke Pines. Kind of far but not too far.
This place has cleaner lines than most other Bru's, which tend to be either Huge Rooms (ie Delray Beach) or meandering multi-room affairs (like Pompano). This one has a big bar on the right and a dining room to the left, which is what you get in a strip mall.
What I didn't like about this layout was that the TVs were a bit small considering the viewing distance. If you sit at the bar, the TVs are on the far wall and it hardly seems like a "big screen". On the short side of the bar, the wall it too close to turn and watch close up.
They have one big projector screen, which was inexplicably showing a game that nobody was watching. Another "sports" bar where the management isn't paying attention and who doesn't know their clientele.
An observation I made was that this was the most subdued sports bar I can remember since Duffy's in Delray Beach. There was very little cheering; a lot of older couple that seemed more focused on eating than the games.
I left at halftime as the Giants were getting blown out and I thought the place was boring.
I've eaten at Bru's many times; if you go to Bru's, get the wings, grilled.
