Critic's Review

Whenever I go to a restaurant's web site and the big headline is "Voted Best in South Florida", it makes me a bit nauseous. The mental midgets doing marketing down here irritate me; why do places keep using tactics that have proven over and over to not work? The "Voted Best" is so tiresome; and nobody believes it, so why embarrass your business with such amateurishness?

So I shouldn't have been surprised that I've never heard of this place that was "voted" best pizza in South Florida because, well, I don't really pay attention to anything food-related here in South Florida.

If you're not from here, something you should know is that pizza "chain" restaurants down here tend to be very bad. Big Louie's, Rotelli, etc. When the focus becomes money rather than serving a local community, things tend to go downhill. Even Anthony's; Im sure it was a lot better when there was only 1 or 2 of them.

I was watching football up in Plantation, so I stopped by on my way home and picked up a pizza. The pie was ready when I got there (15 minutes) so no interior pictures. It looks like a storefront pizzeria so you're not missing too much.

I took a quick look at the pie when I put it in the car; it looked pretty weak for $16. It smelled pretty good on the ride home; of course I hadn't eaten anything since 9am so maybe anything would have smelled good.

It was still hot when I got home.

Delvecchio's Half Sausage Pizza

My impression of the pizza is that it would have been very good if it wasn't shoestring budgeted out; the slices seemed smaller than their stature; a minimum amount of sauce and cheese, ultra-thin crust. Good tasting sauce, but not enough cheese to impress me. This is a $12 pizza that they're selling for $14.99.

Another annoyance is that they charged me for a "Sausage Pizza", but clearly only gave me a half topping on the Pizza. If you don't "do" half toppings, fine, but give me a full topping portion on half of the pizza. Because if you charge me for a full topping and only give me half of what I'm paying for, it guarantees that you get less than 2 stars for Service. A suggestion is to have the girl on the phone tell me that you don't do half toppings when I order it, so I can tell her to just go ahead and do a whole sausage pizza.

Whoever voted this the "Best Pizza in South Florida" are morons. Maybe if you work there.
