Critic's Review
La Granja is a franchise chain operation that is spreading like wild fire throughout South Florida. This location was a Burger King and it still looks like a Burger King inside. Its sort of like fast peruvian food; mostly chicken, rice and beans. I'd liken it to Boston Market without any side choices. Rice beans and bananas/plantains is your only choice here.
I'm not sure if its because they just opened, but service is kind of annoying. They line up trays and call out numbers and yell things to the kitchen in spanish. I ordered a 1/2 chicken with, yes you guessed it, rice and beans. It came out very quick, so they're not cooking these babies to order.
The chicken is very tender; fall off the bone tender. And very good. I don't eat skin but did have a taste and it's deliciously seasoned. Rice and beans are rice and beans; but its not a bad meal for $7.95. Two lunches for me. Or maybe lunch and a late night snack.
To be fair, considering the venue, it's not a tremendous bargain. You can get the same dish down the road at Cabo Blanco for $4.99.
