I'd heard that Brewzzi had Sunday ticket so I thought I'd stop by and check out the wings while catching the Giant game. These Brewery places were all the rage in the 90s on Long Island, and while I never really grasped the concept since drinking unfamiliar beers isn't a big selling point, they do have a big menu and a good location.
This first impression was they it's not a great setup for Sunday Ticket. There weren't many people there even though the Dolphins were playing, and I had trouble finding the game I wanted and a place to sit where I could see it. There were seats at the bar and one of the bar sets had the game on, so I grabbed one. Unfortunately they have glasses on both sides of the bar and if you sit normally they are in the way of the smallish TVs they have here. I'm not a tall guy, and I had to lean forward (elbows on the bar) to see the screen without glasses in the way.
The place is kind of old looking with a copper bar and big vinyl booths; it reminded me a bit of Gatsby's.
The server was nice enough, and I quickly ordered some buffalo wings and a "blonde" beer that she claimed was "light". But I think "light" here means light in color and not light in calories. They don't have calorie listings so I just figured I'd leave 1/3 in the glass and that would be 1/3 less calories.
The wings came quickly. It's certainly a generous portion.
They were a bit wet for me; just a mess to eat. They don't have heat choices; Buffalo is the only choice you get. The blue cheese was ample and they gave a decent portion of celery; all included for $9.95. The wings were pretty good, and they became less messy as they dried.
The bottom line here is that it's just not a great setup for watching the games; the TVs are small and inconveniently located. There was no place I could sit and watch 2 games that interested me; I couldn't watch the Giants and the Dolphins. If food is more the focus and the games secondary; then it seems like a pretty good place for a casual meal.
