Critic's Review
I didn't anticipate getting a pizza in Davie today, but I also didn't anticipate 2 places on my "to do" list being closed on Memorial Day. In fact my entire day was thrown off by seemingly random closings; I suppose businesses have the right to take off for a holiday but it would be nice if they let people know.
I was up this way to get some ribs at Shorty's and with my other 2 top choices closed, I decided to order from this place which is on the way to 595 from Shorty's. The shopping center that this place is in resembles something post-apocalyptic, with Pizza Loft right in the middle. The good news is that there is plenty of parking.
Inside, the place looks like a pizza counter when you walk in, but they have a dining room off to the right. you can eat in here.
I ordered my usual, a large, half sausage pizza.
At first glance I wasn't that impressed, but it was pretty good. There are so many different kinds of sausage; this was on a bit heavy. It would have been better if they spread it out more. Not sure why it was only on 3 slices.
The crust was a bit thick for my taste, but it was a pretty good pizza. I wouldn't avoid it, but I won't be thinking of getting it again either.
Note that the prices are up a bit from the menu we have posted; a large pie was $12.95. They could use some work on their web site.
