Slice Pizzeria: New Owners, Same Story

I'd heard that Slice Pizzeria was under new management, which had to be a good thing, I thought. The old management was a disaster, with odd hours, a kitchen sink menu and some issue every time I went in there. They'd been open for over 2 years and I'd never gotten a fresh pizza, for one reason or another. The last frustrating episode was due to the fact that their facebook page said that they were open until 8pm while they actually closed at 6pm. Several attempts to order a pie had gone the way of endless rings.

I tried to call the old number and found that it was disconnected. Their facebook page and web site still had all of the old info; I thought maybe they changed the name. I needed gas so I figured I'd drive by the place, get the new number and order a pie, hit the gas station and then pick it up on the way back. But driving by the place, I saw that everything was the same. Same name, same number, same ads selling everything from Gyros to Chicken Wings. It was 5:25 so I figured I'd better go in and order in case they had the same hours as before.

I went in and mentioned that the phone number they had on the window was out of order; apparently there's some dispute with the old owner not having paid some bills and the phone company won't give them the number without paying them. Whatever, I was there now. I told him what I wanted; my usual half-sausage pizza, and the new owner started to try to sell me some old slices that they had lying around. He started by claiming that a fresh pie would be $17.50 (the actual price would be $16.15) and he could save me some money. They used to charge $1.25 for a half topping, but now they charge $2.25 for a half or full topping. I had zero interest in a bunch of slices; the entire point of ordering a whole pizza is to get a fresh one. I then suggested that I didn't care about saving a couple of dollars; at which point I realized that he wasn't going to make me a pizza. Ok, so they close at 6pm but the ovens are closed for business at 5:30? They were perfectly happy to have me walk out.

If a place has published hours of being open until 6pm, I expect them to make me food that takes 20 minutes at 5:30. So what we have here is new owners, but the some old nonsense.
