The Japanese Village Steakhouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale has closed, subtracting yet-another lunch option for those working in the financial district downtown. With Salad Creations, Samba Room, Quiznos and Japanese Village all closed, and Rare not serving lunch at all, the choices for lunch are seriously diminished. They've gutted Samba Room so there may be something going on there, and a new Italian/Pizza place is opening this week.
There are plenty of expensive places to have lunch: Timpano, YOLO, Big City Tavern and Cheesecake factory, not that Japanese Steakhouse was inexpensive.
