Critic's Review
Like many places around town, Mr M's lost their awning in the IRMA storm; you'd hardly know there was a sandwich shop here.
Inside, chaos is a good word to describe the ambiance. There seem to be way too many people behind the counter. I wouldn't want to come into this please between 12p and 1p; it must be a madhouse. At 2:45 it was more tame.
I placed my order for a "Super", which is an Italian sub at any other place. It's assumed you know everything; The woman just asked what I wanted without any information being provided, including the fact that they charge extra for banana peppers. When I asked "Do you have Banana Peppers?", Instead of just "Yes", she should have said "Yes, for 25 cents extra". I didn't remember that they charge extra until I started writing this up and saw the previous review.
They have a bunch of tables here and some TVs, but I couldn't see doing much more than wolfing down a sandwich here.
Everything comes in a plastic bag, which I really don't care for. Is opaque plastic really more expensive?
The sandwich is a good deal for $4.99 ($5.24 with the banana peppers). I'm not convinced that the meat was very high quality however.
I didn't get any pickle and there was too many slices of raw green pepper on the sub. Otherwise it was a decent sandwich.
Conclusion
Mr M's is your typical old time sandwich shop that popped up in the 80s to compete with Subway; Subway has fallen far in 30 years, while it seems that Mr M's is probably about the same.

About 5 miles from Downtown Fort Lauderdale is Mr M's Sandwich Shop; a fairly good-sized place that's been in operation for over 30 years. Unlike many sub shops; they have a full deli line here; you can get corned beef or pastrami as well as your favorite sub. They have a dining room suitable for small groups, as well as a big screen TV.
I was here for an Italian sub; I haven't had one in a while and I wanted to try someplace new. They clearly lay out what comes on a standard sub; I took it all plus mayo, mustard, lettuce and banana peppers on the side. They charge extra for banana peppers, 25 cents for a 6" sub, which is fine considering that they only charge $4.79 for a sub.
They're pretty well organized; you don't pay until it's ready and they seem to get things done fairly quickly.
It was a pretty good sub, the bread wasn't that great but it served it's purpose. They shave the green peppers and onions; the pepper are so thin you can hardly tell they're peppers. It wasn't overstuffed nor was it lacking in any ingredient.
A pretty good sub.
