Critic's Review
There’s something about diners that I’ve never really liked, and Victoria Park Diner is no different. This particular venue looks old, even though its only been here a few years. They have one of those creepy menus with bad pictures of food that doesn’t even look good in the pictures, and there’s an anticeptic feel to the place. The white plastic booths with blue vinyl padding adds to the creepiness. The old lady sweeping the floors is just a cherry on top.
Their menu has a lot of greek items on it, plus your basic diner food, but if I want greek I’m not coming here. I had a chicken salad sandwich on rye toast with an iced tea, because that’s the kind of food I eat at a diner. The chicken salad with good, the tomatoes were ripe and the lettuce green and fresh, so no complaints on the sandwich. The pickle was from a jar and the thimble of cole slaw was actually quite good at least in taste; its the pulverized kind rather than shredded. They do not have yellow for the iced tea, however, only blue and pink, so they lose a half star right there.
In summary, the food isn’t bad at the Victoria Park Diner, but its not the kind of place I’d come to on any sort of regular basis.
