Critic's Review
The Whole Enchilada is really an upscale taco stand with inside dining. Grasping onto the “fresh” mexican concept that appeals to the feel-good crowd, their menu includes offerings that lean towards the misguided concept that Mexican food should be good for you.
The petite parking lot can be a pain at peak lunch time, but if you go a bit after 2pm its not so bad. Inside, its a bit cramped; half fast-food joint and half restaurant. The furnishings are dark wood instead of fast-food plastic, while the bench seating along the rear wall hints of Boston Market. The menus are spread along the counter and you order at the register and wait for you food at a “table”. They have nice plasma TV on the wall, but for some reason its playing Back To The Future with no sound.
The food here is OK. The chips were stale, which is always a bad start. The items have strange names, like “The Bob” and “Tree Hugger”. There’s cheese in their fish tacos, which seems wrong. Cheese doesn’t belong on Fish Tacos. Plus if the point of eating fish is health, why include cheese? The Guacamole is good and is included in several items.
All in all, the Whole Enchilada can be an interesting lunch, but its nothing to waste a lot of gas getting there.
