Whole Earth Cafe

Brooklyn Water Bagel Express wasn't working out, so they slapped a new sign up and now call themselves Whole Life Earth Cafe. Same Ownership as Before. They were even getting their delivery from BWB in the photo.

The Interior got a big of a facelift:

Brooklyn Water Bagel Express

I had to go to the citibank branch, so why not grab a bagel on my way home?

I didn't need to taste their coffee, so I just ordered a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese. This place looks like a Dunkin Donut. I think they probably get the bagels from the main location by the courthouse.

There was a guy with luggage waiting impatiently (maybe he needed to catch a flight?); it took longer than you'd expect to toast and smear a bagel. They had music I wouldn't expect in a bagel place with all young minority workers; Chicago, Don Henley and The Police; better than some of the newer stuff.

They have some seating that didn't look too comfortable. Fancy creamers and a fancy soda machine to go with the old diner style sugar shaker.

Finally it was ready. It was still warm when I opened it at home.

Brooklyn Water Bagel w/Cream Cheese

This bagel wasn't as good as the one I'd gotten by the courthouse. The outer crust wasn't crispy and the inside was a bit different also. Not a bad bagel, but not worth going out of my way for either. $3.10 for a bagel with cream cheese.

That's a Wrap sandwich shop will be opening it's second location here; they currently have a place across from the courthouse. He's been trying to sell this as a franchise but this is the same owner as the original.

Appears to be closed already. Went by today for a bagel and despite the neon sign being on the place was locked up and lights off.

I can not imagine they will close the custom building and location by the courthouse - they are always busy with the lunch crowd not - especially as they fixed up their outside seating area. I suspect this will be an outpost.

The courthouse location was a mistake. You can't make a return on a 1.2M building selling bagels for 3 hours 5 days a week. They've learned that this is a better spot for this kind of venue. Some lawyer group will buy the building from them.

My question is how much space did they take here? The grab and gos that were here before were very small. These places need a lot more space. It's hard to take a lot of expensive space to sell breakfast.
