I've heard people who said they liked char hut, and I wanted to give them a try. The concept here is that you order something, watch them cook it on the grill and then you choose your toppings. They have several different kinds of buns, including pita that you can choose as well.
Physically, this place is your typical fast food joint, with plastic booth, fast food workers in polo shirts and cheesy, low grade decorations.
I just wanted a plain cheeseburger so I could taste the meat, which is the entire point of a burger. I also wanted to try the shakes, to see how they measured up to shake shack that I had last week. It's all served on a plastic tray with a cheesy paper advertisement.
Sadly, this is your standard fast food. It's a pre-made patty and there isn't very much of a "char" taste to it. The shake is pedestrian as well. Not nearly as good as the decadent shakes you get as Shake Shack down the road, where the burgers are at least as good.
This place certainly isn't worth going out of your way for; at least not for a burger or shake. The chicken is probably the way to go.
