My hope that this was a better, newer version of the old Boston's outside patio was crushed as I got out of the car; the stupid club music could be heard 1/2 block away. It was Sunday afternoon so I wanted to see what the football watching crowd was like at Boston's; except that even with the Dolphins playing, Boston's was pretty dead. I was surprised that there is no way to get to the outside patio from Boston's; they're the same owners (the Marriott) but they're no longer attached.
The Sandbar isn't really set up for sports watching; there are a couple of TVs in the bar built into the building, but the Palapa bar only had 2 TVs, one at either end of the bar.
Instead of the good live music at the old venue; there was a bimbo "DJ" playing music for stupid people. A sparse crowd that seemed out of place; tattooed motorcycle types and old women in beachwear; made me want to get out of this place very quickly.
Too bad. What makes them think that the kind of people who hang out in Delray wants a place like this?
