** Bada Bing has left the building. ***
Bada Bing, which roughly translated means "just that easy", was of course made famous as the strip club in the HBO series "The Sopranos". I remember the first time I watched The Sopranos I was bored to death; and by year 3 I was a junkie that rushed home on Sundays to watch. So when you see a pizza place named Bada Bing, you may not know much about the pizza, but you know that there's someone Italian running the place.
So I walk in the there a guy under the counter; I can only see the top of his head. After about 30 seconds he rises; cigarette in mouth. I'm not having good thoughts at this point. "One slice to go", I say. "Sure thing". He goes in the back and washes his hands. Comes back with a slice and pops it in the oven. "You like eggplant", he says. "I do", I reply. He goes in the back and emerges with a freshly breaded disk. "Here, try this". Its good. The man knows his eggplant. Thinly sliced, lightly breaded. No bitter taste. Finally the slice is ready. It comes with a box.
It looks good. The crust is a big charred. The cheese is white and gooey. There's just enough oregano. BadaBing! This is good stuff. I can't wait to order a whole pie.
