Guacamoles Authentic Mexican Food And More

You can tell when a new place opens that the owner is new to the industry; the name of the place is way too long, they have no hand out menus, no website, no facebook page. Like all you need to do is make food and people will show up or something.

They haven't even bothered to take the signs down from the previous place, the Smoothie Kafe. So when you drive by you can't even see the place. When I first heard about this place I came down and I couldn't find it. I didn't look at the windows for the name of the venues.

Inside, it's a pretty cool place, with folding tables from Office Max. Not unlike Mexico. Very cheap.

Guacamoles inside

There are handwritten signs and menus that look like they were printed on a dot matrix printer (remember them?). Anyway, I wanted to try the Guacamole, given the name of the place, but they didn't have it as a side on the menu. I didn't want to pay $5 for guac and chips; I wanted some food too, so I just ordered one of their $5 burritos. The "authentic' burrito includes lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream. They don't have no rice or black beans here.

The "burrito" reminded me of the chicken salad wrap I'd gotten at Natural Chicken Kitchen. There wasn't much guacamole in it, just a slathering unless they forgot it. It tasted pretty good, but I'm not sure how "authentic' it was. It certainly didn't remind me of anything I had in Mexico. No salsa or side offerings. No chips. Nothing very Mexican about the whole experience.
