Critic's Review
Angelina's Italian Deli is just that; an Italian themed Deli with an emphasis on the Yankees. There's really no question what team is favored here; with a Yankees game on there is literal cheering every time the Yanks get a hit.
There's an open counter like any other deli, and there are a number of tables and chair sporting the Italian flag color scheme. There's a TV in the corner and you can be sure you'll be able to watch the Yankees if the game is on.
The menu is Yankee themed as well. I ordered a "Phil Rizzuto", which is about as close to an Italian sub that I could find.
The sandwich looks pretty big at first glance; but it's mostly bread. If you took the stuff off of one half and put it on the other you'd have a decent sub; at $9 this is more bread than I want and not enough meat. Could they spare the pickle? For $9. could I get a half a pickle please? The sandwich was pretty good in general. But it's not nearly the value you get at 620 subs just down the road.
The buzz about this place is the paninis. Below is a picture of a #7 I swiped from their facebook page. It looks pretty good.
Maybe I should have gotten this instead?
