Description
Two Years ago, Philippe Chow announced that they were taking over the old Jackson Steakhouse space, which I immediately predicted would be a disaster. Shortly thereafter and after having to cough up $1 million on a false advertising lawsuit with Mr Chow, they closed their Boca Raton restaurant due to lack of interest. Now they've closed their Miami location; Philippe Chow is officially out of South Florida. When Chow opened in Boca, they hired the Gab Group to spread the false message that their prices were 30-35% less than Miami. After visiting the restaurant, I questioned the price claim in this analysis. Philippe Chow's crusty CEO, Stratis Morfogen tried to shout down the claim; so there's some satisfaction that his plan to expand Philippe Chow nationwide is coming down like a deck of cards. Restaurants have opened and closed in The Hamptons, Chicago, Jericho, NY, Boca Raton and Miami. They've recently moved to a new location in Los Angeles; they moved to a new location in Miami before folding up and going home. I also can find no evidence that their take-out concept, Philippe Chow Express, has any locations still open.
Philippe Chow is a perfect example of what happens when you attempt to market a restaurant with a false premise. You're only going to fool some of the people once. After a period of time, enough people will have first hand experiences that message soon becomes a negative.
Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say.
Would be nice to have some more good upscale asian / ethnic options with decent prices.
