The new Publix across from Galleria Mall opened on Aug 4, transforming a virtually useless shopping center into a bustling consumer destination. The store has a wonky layout; they have split aisles (think Whole Foods) so it makes it a lot more difficult to find things, particularly on your first visit. You might wonder why we need another Publix just 1/4 mile from their other store on Sunrise; but it is next to a mall, and malls define traffic. All of the people to work at the mall and who go to the mall can now more easily kill 2 birds with one stone.
