Critic's Review
Zinger's is a new Deli in Boca Raton from the same owner as Pastrami Queen at the same location. The space is modest and doesn't look much like a deli; it's a big open room with tables and chairs. Two TVs are mounted on the walls; on an NFL Sunday neither set is on Football at 4:30pm.
So what do you order at a Deli that was previously named "Pastrami Queen"? Pastrami on Rye with mustard, of course. The sandwiches here are a cool $9.99; no side included. You do get a pickle, but it's not a dill pickle; it's a relatively small half-sour pickle.
As far as Pastrami goes here in South Florida, this is as good as it gets. The melt in your mouth, lean but not too lean pastrami is just delicious, bringing back memories of making special trips to world class delis in New York. The bread and mustard is just right also; you can get seeded or seedless rye.
The only slight disappointment was the lack of a big, fat dill pickle to go along with the sandwich. For $10 I should get a dill pickle.
