Marriot Beachplace is a conundrum. The hotel sits on top of a mall where most of the venues have gone out of business. Its perfect beach location is somewhat diminished by the seedy mall, which includes Hooters and Lulu's Bait Shack. Its a great place for spring breakers. The hotel doesn't have any restaurants of its own, just a food store that doesn't have anything you couldn't go to the nearby 7/11 for. The pool is small and sits behind the mall.
Don't be foolish and pay extra for an ocean view. The intracoastal views are MUCH BETTER. If possible, ask for a high floor on the Intracoastal side of the hotel, and you'll be amazed by the most spectacular views in town.
